Casey Brown
Casey grew up sailing and racing in Narragansett Bay at the epicenter of the racing culture that Newport is known for. He developed an early understanding of composites while attending the IYRS Composite Technician Program before graduating from Webb Institute with a degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering. He coauthored a senior thesis on Fluid Structure Interactions of CV Hydrofoils that was awarded first prize by the International Hydrofoil Society. Casey spent two years working on a variety of naval architecture projects for Sparkman and Stephens before stepping away to focus on developing Wyspa Technologies. Currently he leads all projects and races kite foils in his spare time.
dyson houpt
Dyson completed a B.S. in physics and mathematics from St Mary’s College of Maryland along with a M.S. in mechanical engineering and fluid mechanics from Johns Hopkins. She raced at the collegiate level on the St Mary’s sailing team and focused on computational fluid dynamics in her professional career first at the Naval Air Warfare Center followed by the Naval Undersea Warfare Center before joining the Wypsa Tech team.
zachary doerr
Zach graduated from Webb Institute with a degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering. He is a life long sailor with a passion for shorthanded offshore races. He held internships at Toro Yachts & Shipglide Inc. during his time at Webb and coauthored a thesis on passive twisting 470 centerboards (to reduce hull leeway) before joining the Wyspa Tech team.
evan spalding
Evan also graduated from Webb Institute with a degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering. He coached sailing and qualified for the First robotics world championships before holding internships at New England Boatworks, Lyman-Morse, J-boats, & Farr Yacht Design. His thesis at Webb was focused on developing natural fiber composites for yacht construction and he previously work for DLBA Naval Architects before joining the Wyspa Tech team.
